This is about the time of year that I go into a phase of winter seasonal beer drinking. I like to try all of the different brands seasonal brews. The Winter Abbey Ale was surprisingly good!
I like Blue Moon beer. I was a little skeptical of their seasonal winter ale, however, Joe at "The Bottle" said it was a good selection, and he was right. The malts had a nice roasted taste, followed by a sweet caramel/brown sugar, and ending with a wheaty hop flavor at the end that was smooth.
For lack of a better way to put it, I felt like I got a lot of beer in this one. The taste was long and good. I will have more of these from November to January when they stop the winter ale production.
